Activities:
We plan a full complement of Arts
and Sciences classes,
in addition to Combat and Archery instruction
and activities. Two Guest
Instructors will be visiting in order
to provide instruction that otherwise may not be available to Artemisians.
Details and class
schedules will be forthcoming. A simple lunch will
be included with your site fee. Please see the Event
Schedule for
general info.
Guest Instructors:
Randy
Asplund (Mst.
RanthulfR) of the Midrealm
has agreed to travel to our fair lands to consult
and teach with our Scribal community.
From his website:
"How
were medieval books made and illustrated? Randy Asplund
draws together the past and the future as a contemporary Fantasy
Illustrator and Fine Artist. He is internationally known
for
his work in
authentic Medieval Illuminated Manuscript style book art.
His work has appeared worldwide on books, magazines, games,
and
model kit covers, and has been seen in major museums, planetariums,
and shows across the USA and Europe. Randy teaches
widely on
the arts and technology of how authentic medieval illuminated
manuscripts were made."
Earl Mika Longbow,
Archery Track:
A SCAdian for over 33
years in the Kingdoms of Atenveldt, the East, Atlantia, and
the Outlands,
Earl Mika
was
King of Atenveldt, has the kingdom archery award in Atlantia
(Yewbow), the East (Sagittarius), and the Outlands (Sharp
Arrow), was Kingdom Archery Champion twice in Atlantia (once
with crossbow,
once with a recurve), and is currently Kingdom Archery
Champion in the Outlands. He was previously Kingdom Archery
Marshal
in Atlantia, and is the current Archery Marshal for the Barony
of
Caerthe. Earl Mika shoots crossbow, recurve, longbow, and
horsebow, makes his own arrows, strings both Flemish and endless
loop,
and has made more targets and run more shoots than he can
remember. Motto: If you're not having fun, you're doing it
wrong.
